Anushka did her schooling in Bangalore and her Bachelor of Computer Applications at the Mount Carmel College, Bangalore.
Anushka’s real name is Sweety Shetty. She was born on 7 November 1981.
Born in Mangalore, Anushka started her career as a yoga instructor and has trained under yoga guru Bharat Thakur.
Critics described Anushka’s ‘Arundhati’ performance as ‘brilliant and breathtaking’ and she won the Nandi Special Jury Award and the Filmfare Best Actress Award for the film.
Her other film that’s in production, ‘Baahubali’, is also a period film.
It was the 2009 film ‘Arundhati’ that vaulted her to superstardom and she hasn’t looked back since.
While Anushka’s Telugu films in 2010 didn’t quite make waves, she starred in ‘Singam’ with Suriya, a film that went on to become a blockbuster.
